About the Role

The Interconnection Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project interconnections from a technical engineering perspective to guarantee compliance with project requirements, all engineering IEEE/ANSI standards, applicable codes, and the scope of work. The Project Manager should have knowledge of most aspects of HV electrical engineering and SCADA interface. While not conducting the work directly, the individual should be able to review and comment on the following with minimal support from other staff:

• Interconnection requirements and compliance, especially in ERCOT territory
• HV Transmission and Substation SLD/Layouts
• SCADA design and its coordination with the utility

The ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others is required, as portions of the design will be subcontracted out and managed by the Interconnection Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Select, scope, and oversee subcontractors assigned to your work or project. Supervise a design group of 1-4 subcontractors for a single project and potentially oversee multiple projects.
• Review contracts for potential pitfalls or highlight obligations of Rosendin to the utility.
• Assist Rosendin Project Management in incorporating obligations required under utility agreements into the project design.
• Assist in utility requirements surrounding energization and performance obligations leading up to Project COD.
• Apply knowledge of SCADA architecture and communication block diagrams to assist in preliminary scope and communication of design intent to interconnecting utilities.
• Use familiarity with metering concepts and SCADA points lists for the exchange of information with utilities.
• Develop conceptual SLD, Layout, and transmission lines using basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel with little to no support.
• Back-check for quality assurance on design packages assembled by subcontractors.
• Assist the closeout team with review and markup of contract documents prior to contract award.
• Regularly represent Rosendin in client-facing and utility-facing calls and meetings.
• Assist in the marketing of the firm.

Requirements

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with designs lasting 3-6 months and supporting estimating with bid packages.
• Fluency with remote productivity software such as Box, Cisco, GoTo Meeting.
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and others.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or construction sciences with a minimum of 4 years' experience in construction of renewable HV Substation and Transmission Projects.
• The ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others, as well as analyze and resolve complex problems.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Travel

• Visits to Anaheim, CA to coordinate with other HV engineers as needed.
• Visits to project sites as needed.

Working Conditions

• General work environment: sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
• Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
