High Voltage Electrical Engineer
About the role
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join our Generation & Energy Management Team in Reading, PA; Hartford, CT; or St. Catharines, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports for mechanical energy, power generation, and facility energy system projects
- Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff or technical leadership
- Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard procedures and best practices to support system reliability, safety, and performance
- Monitor project progress and performance, acting quickly to resolve technical or operational issues that could impact mission-critical systems
- Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including field assignments and system assessments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required
- Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Qualifications
- Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
- Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 USD / $80,000 - $90,000 CAD
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
