About the role
District 49 is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Falcon High School starting July 28, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach students with special needs according to curriculum standards
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- BA/BS from an accredited college or university
- Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in Special Education Generalist
- Experience: District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year relevant experience
Qualifications
- BA/BS from accredited college or university
- Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in Special Education Generalist
- Colorado READ Act training requirements

- Minimum starting pay: $50,500/year
- Maximum salary: $101,999/year
- Initial pay placement based on formal education and years of relevant experience
