About the role

District 49 is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Falcon High School starting July 28, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with special needs according to curriculum standards
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university
• Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in Special Education Generalist
• Experience: District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year relevant experience

Qualifications

• BA/BS from accredited college or university
• Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in Special Education Generalist
• Colorado READ Act training requirements

• Minimum starting pay: $50,500/year
• Maximum salary: $101,999/year
• Initial pay placement based on formal education and years of relevant experience
