About the role
Pharos Academy Charter School seeks a High School Special Education Teacher for the 26-27 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, supporting students, and pushing them academically and behaviorally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with lead teachers to co-plan lessons and create modified lesson plans based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Identify and support students needing additional SETTS services (individual or small group).
- Develop, modify, and update IEPs in a timely manner.
- Assess student skills and educational needs.
- Maintain progress monitoring to ensure students are on track to meet IEP goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- A strong commitment to helping students overcome challenges and develop social and academic skills.
- Experience working with school-aged children in academic or youth development settings.
- For experienced teachers, a proven track record of success in the classroom is essential.
