High School Science Teacher (2025 - 2026)

Job Summary

Discovery Flex is a hybrid virtual charter school opening in the 2026-2027 school year, serving grades K-12. We are seeking a High School Science Teacher to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create engaging, asynchronous lessons aligned to the curriculum and Louisiana Student Standards
• Design a positive and inclusive virtual hybrid learning environment
• Provide daily asynchronous math instruction and differentiated synchronous learning experiences
• Achieve student progress toward content mastery through consistent individualized feedback
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
• Enhance student engagement through mastery of content using technology and other resources
• Record, analyze, and evaluate student data frequently
• Consult with students, learning coaches, parents, and guardians for targeted guidance and support
• Serve as a homeroom mentor to build student relationships and school culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification/license (certifications in Middle School Math/Science, Special Education, Gifted Instruction, ESL, and/or Reading Specialist are desired)
• At least 2 years of experience working with middle school students in a classroom setting
• Knowledge of LEAP 2025 assessments and Louisiana Student Standards
