High School Navigator - Mathews & Middlesex High Schools
About the role
The High School Navigator position at Rappahannock Community College (RCC) serves Mathews and Middlesex High Schools. This is a full-time, classified, restricted staff position with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated salary range is $45,000 – $48,195, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Promote college and career readiness by arranging campus visits to RCC, promoting RCC’s programs and career pathways, and informing students about careers in the region.
- Work to increase the percentage of high school students who participate in dual enrollment programs and then successfully transition to college education or workforce training.
- Target high school students who most need career planning services and help students recognize community college opportunities and ensure a seamless transition to postsecondary certificates and degrees in addition to apprenticeships and workforce training.
- Provide access to academic advising, financial aid, scholarship information and wrap-around services for students while they are in high school, and as they transition to college.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, and travel to and from campuses and employer partners in the service region for outreach services and follow-up services.
Requirements
Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, and travel to and from campuses and employer partners in the service region. A valid driver’s license is required.

Skills
Knowledge and understanding of academic and workforce programs, basic understanding of credit and non-credit program coordination processes, policies, rules and regulations, and current educational practices in career counseling.
