About The Project

Liberia is looking for math teachers to strengthen instruction and learning outcomes for grades 9-12. Math proficiency remains a significant challenge, especially in rural areas. National assessments consistently reveal gaps in math proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Teach math lessons aligned with the national curriculum and connect concepts to real-world applications.
• Create student-centered, interactive instructional materials.
• Model classroom strategies that strengthen numeracy, algebra, geometry, and problem-solving skills.
• Lead small group or remedial lessons to reinforce key concepts.
• Use simple assessment tools to track student progress and inform instruction.
• Collaborate with school leaders to advance math-focused initiatives and improve instructional quality.
• Encourage parent and community involvement in supporting students' math learning.
• Work on additional projects that meet the community's interests and priorities, such as supporting math clubs or computer literacy workshops.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in secondary education with a concentration in math.
• OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline with secondary certification in math.
• OR Bachelor's degree in math, engineering, or computer science.
• OR Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minor or equivalent in math.
