About the role

The successful candidate will meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times. They will plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.

Responsibilities

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Guide the learning process towards meeting established district curriculum goals.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
  • Implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
  • Assess student accomplishments regularly and communicate progress with parents.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
  • Diagnose learning challenges and seek assistance from district specialists.
  • Maintain an ongoing program of professional growth.
  • Take an active part in the teacher evaluation process.
  • Attend building and district meetings.
  • Participate in traditional school-sponsored activities.
  • Contribute to decisions regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and personal well-being.
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

Requirements

Highly qualified with required competency in the content area; appropriate content/program area educator license (Mathematics) and grade level (8-12) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.

Qualifications
