About the role
The successful candidate will meet and instruct assigned classes in designated locations and times. They will plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Responsibilities
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Guide the learning process towards meeting established district curriculum goals.
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media.
- Implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and communicate progress with parents.
- Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
- Diagnose learning challenges and seek assistance from district specialists.
- Maintain an ongoing program of professional growth.
- Take an active part in the teacher evaluation process.
- Attend building and district meetings.
- Participate in traditional school-sponsored activities.
- Contribute to decisions regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and personal well-being.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
Requirements
Highly qualified with required competency in the content area; appropriate content/program area educator license (Mathematics) and grade level (8-12) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
Qualifications
