High School Math Teacher (2026 - 2027 School Year)
Position Summary
The primary responsibilities are to provide support in the instructional process by serving as a facilitator of learning, developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing classroom and school issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from parents or guardians regarding academic and social-emotional issues.
Position Responsibilities
- Establish weekly objectives that align to the Common Core Standards and Missouri Learning Standards.
- Facilitate “hands-on” activities and projects that allow students to learn by doing and exploring.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
- Use discipline models of BIST and Restorative Justice to maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment.
- Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Select, modify, and utilize instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Afford assistance in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
- Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
- Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
- Assume responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Demonstrate gains in student performance.
- Participate in meetings, training, and professional development.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating, etc.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate
- Desire to continue professional development

- Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and teachers in the school environment and community

May have to intervene in student fights or when students are escalated using MANDT training.

Maintains communication with teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action which will meet the educational needs of students. Provides health services, information, and counseling in an effective and positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the school community. Completes accident/incident reports for students/staff. Compiles data for statistical purposes. Maintains confidentiality regarding educational records.
Organization
Must be able to organize and prioritize work in a manner understandable to the leadership team. Maintains a daily log of school/staff visits and documentation. Maintains the daily environment of the health office facility and supplies. Utilizes existing technology effectively in the performance of duties. Performs other related work as required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills
Ability to read and analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, general curriculum and learning theories, correspondence, and protocols. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.
