High School Math Teacher (2026 - 2027)

Job Summary

Discovery Flex is a hybrid virtual charter school authorized by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). We are expanding our reach to include grades K-12th, starting with 8th - 10th grade Math in the 2026-2027 school year. Discovery Flex is seeking a dedicated 8th - 10th Grade Math Teacher to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging, asynchronous lessons aligned to the curriculum and Louisiana Student Standards
• Design a positive and inclusive virtual hybrid learning environment
• Provide daily asynchronous math instruction and differentiated synchronous learning experiences to promote student mastery
• Absorb and provide consistent individualized feedback to students, learning coaches, parents, and guardians
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment for students
• Utilize technology and other resources to enhance student engagement through mastery of content
• Record, analyze, and evaluate student data frequently
• Consult with students, learning coaches, parents, and guardians to provide targeted guidance and support toward individual student goals
• Serve as a homeroom mentor to build student relationships and school culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Valid teaching certification/license (certifications in Special Education, Gifted Instruction, ESL, and/or Reading Specialist are desired)
• Experience working with middle school students in a classroom setting (2+ years preferred)
• Knowledge of LEAP 2025 assessments and Louisiana Student Standards

Experience

• Experience teaching students in a virtual classroom environment

Experience Working with Middle School Students

• 2+ years preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)

Technology and Teaching Platforms

• Rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

Desired Competencies

• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology

Location

• May be located in Kenner, LA or Baton Rouge, LA
