Primary Tasks & Major Activities
- Teach JROTC curriculum and conduct integrated-curricular activities such as: JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC), adventure training, drill and marksmanship competitions, STEM and similar activities, all of which must be school-sponsored.
- Plan lessons, carry out effective instruction, and evaluate student progress toward learning goals.
- Create a positive and productive classroom learning environment.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Participate in District and Building Professional Development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with parents on student comprehension and progress.
- Support High School building improvement plan.
Education/Skills/Experience Required
- Missouri JROTC Certification 9-12.
- Officer or Warrant Officer preferred.
- Must meet all Army JROTC qualifications to be considered for an instructor position, including the Army JROTC Instructor Qualification Application and a satisfactory interview with an authorized Cadet Command interviewer.
- A strong knowledge of Missouri End-of-Course (EOC) assessments and effective instructional strategies.
- Willingness to collaborate with peers.
- Willingness to understand and support the District's CSIP Strategic Plan.
Other Requirements
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
