High School JROTC Senior Instructor

Primary Tasks & Major Activities

• Teach JROTC curriculum and conduct integrated-curricular activities such as: JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC), adventure training, drill and marksmanship competitions, STEM and similar activities, all of which must be school-sponsored.
• Plan lessons, carry out effective instruction, and evaluate student progress toward learning goals.
• Create a positive and productive classroom learning environment.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Participate in District and Building Professional Development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with parents on student comprehension and progress.
• Support High School building improvement plan.

  Education/Skills/Experience Required

  • Missouri JROTC Certification 9-12.
  • Officer or Warrant Officer preferred.
  • Must meet all Army JROTC qualifications to be considered for an instructor position, including the Army JROTC Instructor Qualification Application and a satisfactory interview with an authorized Cadet Command interviewer.
  • A strong knowledge of Missouri End-of-Course (EOC) assessments and effective instructional strategies.
  • Willingness to collaborate with peers.
  • Willingness to understand and support the District's CSIP Strategic Plan.

  Other Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
