About the Role

The College Preparatory School seeks dynamic candidates for the following coaching positions for the fall 2026-27 season (August 10th to October 17th, 2026):

  • Girls JV Assistant Coach
  • F/S (Freshman/Sophomore) Head Coach

We aim to build on an established and successful program, focusing on coaching volleyball and teaching lifelong values of sportsmanship, integrity, commitment, personal responsibility, teamwork, and self-discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Provide volleyball instruction and coaching that supports the development of players' skills, techniques, game understanding, and overall growth as student-athletes.
  • Organize and execute practice and season-long coaching plans.
  • Work effectively with student-athletes of varying abilities and cultural backgrounds to instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork.
  • Motivate student-athletes to participate and sustain their interest in the program.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, coaching staff, and the College Prep community.
  • Work cooperatively and professionally with all school staff.
  • Attend all athletic department meetings.
  • Present a positive image to student-athletes and the campus community by maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
  • Supervise all students affiliated with the team.
  • Report injuries to the Athletic Trainer, Athletic Director, and Associate Athletic Director promptly.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of the fundamentals and advanced techniques of volleyball.
  • Strong background in volleyball fundamentals, ideally with coaching experience across high school, club, collegiate, or other competitive volleyball programs.
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and provide direction to players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Flexible afternoon and evening schedule.
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • CPR and first-aid training preferred (or willingness to gain proficiency).

Pay

$20–$27 per hour.
