About the role

Plans and implements organized daily practice plans, including time for group and individual instruction.

Responsibilities

• Works cooperatively with coaching assistants, athletic director, trainer, and building administration.
• Adapts and modifies coaching techniques, strategies, and game plans.
• Coches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Promotes and maintains positive public relations with parents and the community.
• Provides atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and player conduct.
• Prepares for each game in strategy and player motivation.
• Helps oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Helps establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in accordance with state and district standards.
• Represents the school and school district in an ethical and professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

• A minimum of high school diploma or GED.
• Must be CPR/AED Certified.
• Demonstrates interest in the aptitude for performing coaching duties for a specific sport or sports.
• Satisfactory Criminal Background Check, TB test and Child Protection Registry clearance must be completed before start of employment.
