High School English Teacher (26-27)

About the role

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree teacher certified in High School English is sought. 2+ years’ experience with high school students in a school setting is preferred. Special Education (SPED) certification is an asset. Knowledge of End-of-Course (EOC) tests, ACT/SAT preparation, and Louisiana State Standards is preferred. Certification or interest in achieving certification in multiple areas is a plus. A strong candidate will have an interest and ability to support one or more extra-curricular clubs or sports outside of the regular school day.

Responsibilities

Teach High School English curriculum.

Prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards.

Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Support students in developing critical thinking and writing skills.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching methods and resources.

Participate in extracurricular activities as needed.

Requirements

High School English certification.

2+ years of teaching experience with high school students.

Special Education certification is an asset.

Qualifications
