About The Team
This High School English Teacher position is for Freire Charter School Wilmington, which serves 8th-12th graders. The school aims for double graduation – high school and college – and provides comprehensive support, including individualized college counseling. In 2025, 95% of the class received acceptances into 52 unique colleges and earned nearly $4.3M in scholarship offers.

- Maintain consistent, proactive communication with families regarding student progress and relevant school updates.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification.
- Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skills.
- A positive, solution-oriented mindset with a work ethic and collaborative spirit.
- At least two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations.
Pay & Benefits
The annual salary range for this role is $50,000–$85,000, with certified teachers entering their first year starting at $55,000. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and additional benefits. Delaware employees are enrolled in the state pension plan and may also participate in the state’s 403(b) retirement plan.
