Essential Duties

Career & Technical Education Duties and Expectations

• Plans, delivers, and assesses instruction using a competency-based education model.
• Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices, and industry trends.
• Maintains a working knowledge of current industry safety standards and ensures their incorporation into instruction.
• Supports and promotes student participation in internships and apprenticeships with local employers.

Instructional Responsibilities

• Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Implement differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to support all learners.
• Integrate technology and innovative practices into teaching to enhance student engagement.
• Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and learning.

Minimum Requirements

• Must hold or be eligible for a teaching license in the state of Virginia endorsed in teaching Emergency Medical Technician skills; must have a minimum of one year experience as an EMT.
• Individual must hold a valid EMS Education Coordinator certification (minimum requirement).
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Education Coordinator's certification preferred.
• EMT Certified applicants with two years of experience within the past five years are encouraged to apply.

Pay & Schedule

• Minimum salary: $68,227
• 239-day or 11-month assignment
• Start date: July 30, 2026
• Annual salaries are prorated based upon the official work start date.
