Schedule
Class starts August 31, 2026, running Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The program lasts 10 weeks, followed by two weeks of testing and certification exam preparation. The deadline to apply is August 14, 2026. Placement is determined by the timing of application submission and processing.
Pay
Guaranteed $19.28/hour upon licensure as an EMT.

A Day in the Life of a Trainee
As a trainee, you'll spend 10 weeks in an accelerated program learning the fundamentals of emergency care, developing practical skills, and gaining confidence through classroom instruction and ride-along experiences. The final two weeks focus on testing and preparation for your certification exam. You'll train alongside knowledgeable instructors and experienced EMTs. Upon completion and certification, you'll transition into a full-time EMT role, working alongside a seasoned partner in the field.
Requirements
- 19 years old
- High school diploma, GED, homeschool equivalent, or dual-enrolled high school senior
- Valid Michigan driver's license, clean driving record, and three years of driving experience
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- Proof of required vaccinations
- Willingness to remain calm under pressure, show empathy in emotionally intense situations, and commit to completing the full training and licensing process
