General Summary – Primary Functions
The High School Branch Supervisor assists branch leadership by overseeing an A+FCU high school branch, guiding high school interns through their credit union experience and promoting excellence in member service. This role will assist in achieving branch goals by encouraging consultative conversations, engaging in high school and community initiatives, and participating in business development activities.
High School Branch Employee Support
- Support branch leadership with the daily operations of a high school branch, including intern onboarding, coaching, training, and hiring.
- Establish and review performance standards to evaluate intern performance.
- Support the career and skill development of interns through consistent coaching, professional development, and purposeful career pathing to compliment interns’ goals and identify objectives.
- Provide intern oversight and coaching to achieve excellence in member consultation, service-level standards, business development, and operations.
- Routinely conduct meetings (both group and one-on-one meetings) with team members to provide coaching, direction, and feedback.
- Communicate high school branch strategic vision to partner branch team members to ensure alignment to achieve objectives.
- Partner with appropriate departments and high school administration to oversee the safety, appearance, and functionality of the high school branch (including, but not limited to, facility and equipment).
- Seek improvements and make recommendations to enhance the high school branch’s strategic vision as needed.
- Oversee intern timekeeping.
Partner/High School Branch Support
- Provide support to team members by assisting with member transactions and account requests as needed.
- Engage in member de-escalation when needed, serving as a resource for complex situations.
- Serve as an expert for team members on A+FCU products and services, providing education and resources to enhance knowledge.
- Identify operational inefficiencies/opportunities to improve the member and team member experience.
- Partnership with appropriate departments and high school administration to oversee the safety, appearance, and functionality of the high school branch (including, but not limited to, facility and equipment).
Member Consultation
- Engage in meaningful consultative conversations, uncovering members’ needs and recommend products and services.
- Embody sincere empathy and display a deep passion for helping members achieve their financial goals.
- Absorb and recommend opening/closing deposit products and services.
- Recommend lending products/services and assist members with loan applications through video lending or refer to a branch lender.
- Identify and refer investment opportunities to A+ Wealth Management.
- Absorb and assist with opening and servicing fiduciary accounts, including POAs, Trusts, Estates, and IRAs/HSAs.
- Absorb, close, and service Business Memberships, including sole proprietorships and associations.
Financial Transactions
- Process financial transactions and service requests.
- Operate, maintain, and balance a cash drawer (as assigned).
- Provide operational oversight and assistance for funds availability, including supervisor overrides and check approvals.
- Absorb and assist with disputes and fraudulent transactions.
- Perform updates to members’ accounts (including but not limited to ownership changes, adding/removing beneficiaries, changes of address, etc.).
- Assist members with safe deposit box assistance, including entry, opening, and closing of safe deposit boxes (where applicable).
- Provide Notary Public services.
Community Education and Business Development
- Promote financial literacy through the facilitation of classroom presentations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with high school faculty and staff.
- Partner with Branch Manager and assigned Business Development Officer to design and implement high school/community growth strategies, goals, and prospect new relationships.
- Participate (and ensure team member participation) in high school/district events, community events and SEG partner relationships.
- Adhere to and coach to A+FCU business development standard and overall professional expectations.
- Support partner branch by: Volunteering to participate in business development and community events, Deepening relationships at community/business development events.
Miscellaneous
- Observe highest level of professionalism, especially as it relates to working with minors.
- Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, and internal controls.
- Complete required regulatory training as assigned.
- Serve as a project leader or project team member on departmental projects/initiatives as needed.
- Aid other branch locations as needed.
- Maintain member confidentiality.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three years’ financial institution experience required.
- One year supervisor experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Possess a high emotional IQ and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), that reflect a professional, positive business approach.
- Ability to manage community and business development relationships, including prospecting, relationship management, and market penetration.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to self-manage to meet deadlines amongst competing priorities.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to change.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite products and proven usage (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar).
- Must have the ability to travel between branch locations (high school branch - appx 50% of the time, partner branch - appx 50% of the time).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability/stamina to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Frequently reach, lift, bend, carry, and finely manipulate/key-in data.
- Must be able to engage in problem-solving skills to help identify and resolve member issues.
- Must be able to communicate extensively through in-person, e-mail, written, and telephone communications.
Decision-Making Capabilities
- Types of Decisions requiring supervisory approval: Exceptions outside of role limits, legal questions and situations outside A+FCU policies and procedures.
