High Needs (LIFE) Paraprofessional

Essential Functions

• Typing, drawing, writing, and duplicating instructional material
• Making educational games and aids
• Listening to students read and reading to students
• Helping students with make-up work
• Aiding in individual or group activities, games, flash cards, computers, etc.
• Aiding students in interpreting and following the directions of the teacher
• Drilling to reinforce any skill the teacher has taught
• Alerting the teacher to the needs of students
• Aiding the teacher in checking the progress of individualized study projects
• Supervising lunchroom, playground, halls, classrooms, and other assigned activities
• Preparing bulletin boards, charts, and graphs
• Aiding in the physical and health needs of the children, such as feeding and toileting
• Performing miscellaneous typing and filing
• Investigating inventory of books, materials, and equipment
• Aiding during emergencies
• Performing other delegated non-instructional responsibilities assigned by the teacher or administrator
