High-End Technical Talent Acquisition Partner
Location: San Francisco (on-site) • Full-time
About the role
The people we need are at OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepMind, or finishing PhDs at Stanford and MIT. They are already paid extremely well, they get a dozen recruiter messages a week, and they delete them without reading past the first line. Our whole hiring problem lives in that moment. Money is not the obstacle. We make offers above $1M in total compensation and we will go higher for the right person. What we cannot buy is attention.
The job is writing the one message that gets read, and then being so good on the call that someone who was not looking starts looking. Do it well and the first call does everything—it qualifies, it sells, and it makes the person want to tell a friend. Do it badly and we never find out who we lost, because they never wrote back.
Responsibilities
- Outreach people are glad to receive. Every message specific to one person: their repo, their paper, the thing they clearly care about. Written like a human wrote it, because one did.
- The first call. You would run it end to end—hear what someone actually wants, tell the truth about what we are, and leave them better off whether or not they move forward. Warmth and honesty do more here than any pitch deck.
- Closing at the top of the market. You would carry seven-figure offers against counters from the same labs the candidate came from. That means explaining how the package is built—cash, equity, and what the equity is a bet on—without overselling it, and staying steady when a frontier lab doubles down to keep someone.
- Keeping the bar and the relationships. Structured debriefs, clean notes, honest funnel numbers. And a network you keep warm for years, including the people we passed on.
Requirements
- Outbound that works cold. Show us reply rates and hires that started as a first message.
- Exceptional presence on a call—you make strangers comfortable fast and read a room over Zoom.
- Genuine care for candidates, including the ones who say no.
- On-site in San Francisco.
Nice to have
- You have hired out of a frontier lab, or out of a top research group.
- You have recruited ML researchers, systems, or compiler engineers.
- A network in the Bay Area AI research scene.
- Time on both the agency and in-house sides.
About us
Infinity is an early-stage AI infrastructure research company building the software layer that makes non-NVIDIA chips competitive for AI inference. Rather than leaning on scarce human kernel engineers, we use AI to generate, test, and optimize the low-level code that decides how efficiently a chip runs AI models. We have signed or are negotiating design partnerships with d-Matrix, AMD, AWS Trainium, Microsoft on Maia and Nexus, Qualcomm, and others.
Our founder, Jeremy Nixon, came from Google Brain and co-founded AGI House with Andrej Karpathy. We have raised $15M, with backing from the founder of Intercom, the VP of AI at AMD, and the founder of MLCommons, and we are headquartered in San Francisco.
