About the role
Driver Hire Carlisle is recruiting for multiple HGV class 2 ADR Drivers (CAT C) on a temp‑perm basis with a well‑known client in the Carlisle area. The role offers a steady, ongoing position with the possibility of moving to a permanent contract after 12 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Operating a HGV Class 2 vehicle
- Delivering gas bottles to industrial and commercial premises
- Working a 4 on 2 off shift pattern (Monday‑Sunday) with start times from 06:00 am and average shift length of 10‑12 hours
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
- Representing both the client and Driver Hire Carlisle professionally
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2) entitlement
- In‑date ADR licence
- Minimum 1 year experience as an HGV driver
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong understanding of site safety and procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Pay
Hourly rate: £17.13 – £25.70 (PAYE); approximate annual salary £37,852; overtime paid after 8 hours.
Schedule
4 on 2 off shift pattern, Monday‑Sunday; start times from 06:00 am; average shift length 10‑12 hours.
