About the role
This is a Class 2 HGV Driver position with Gategroup, working as an Aircraft Loader on a fixed-term contract until 31st October. The role offers a regular roster of 4 on 4 off shifts, with availability required from 06:00-17:30. The hourly rate is £20.13, with an overtime rate of 1.5. Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Driving HGV tonne company liveried vehicles in a secure and controlled environment
- Carrying out vehicle checks prior to use
- Loading and unloading catering uplifts to aircraft
- Liaising with flight crew and working in collaboration with other ground handling suppliers
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle
- Adhering to all Road Traffic Acts and additional Airport By-laws
- Additional duties such as bar and stores packing or search and sealing, as well as associated paperwork and warehouse duties
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A valid, clean HGV CAT C Driving Licence (up to 3 points will be considered)
- Digital Tachograph knowledge and possession of a digital tachograph card
- Driver CPC qualification
- Previous HGV experience desirable, with airport airside driving being an advantage
- Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act
- Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check), and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For any time spent outside the UK exceeding 6 months, applicants must be able to provide a CRC for that country.
