HemOnc Willimantic - Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant

About the role

The Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide value-based care to Oncology Patients primarily in outpatient settings, located at William W. Backus Hospital Cancer Institute in the Willimantic location. They will work as part of the MSK Cancer Alliance, which partners with Memorial Sloan Kettering to offer state-of-the-art cancer care.

Responsibilities

• Triage and manage the spectrum of outpatient management for cancer patients, including urgent visits, chemotherapy pre-treatment visits, follow-up appointments, and ongoing survivorship care.
• Participate in acute care consultation services.
• Advocate for patient-centered care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in professional development through training and education programs offered by Hartford HealthCare and Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Requirements

• Licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
• Certified as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner.
• At least 1 year of experience practicing as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP).

Qualifications

• Experience in oncology is highly preferred.
