About the Role
Provides direct patient care in a hemodialysis setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Ensures patient safety, promotes family-centered care, and educates patients and families on managing their condition, medication, and post-treatment care.
Responsibilities
- Develops and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family.
- Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers.
- Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, and engages in professional development.
- Administers dialysis treatments, monitors patient responses, and ensures care quality.
- Maintains a safe, healing environment and communicates effectively across disciplines.
Requirements
- RN license required.
- Nursing diploma or associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- No prior experience necessary; less than 2 years of experience preferred.
- Prior hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis experience required.
Schedule
Works on a flexible schedule, including nights and holidays, with call responsibilities.
