About the role

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking an academically-oriented Hematopathologist.

Responsibilities

• Cover the clinical service including bone marrow, lymph node, PB/Body fluid, flow cytometry, and optional molecular studies.
• Teach medical school students, pathology and non-pathology rotating residents, fellows, and allied health staff.
• Participate in research and potentially obtain extramural funding.
• Join a group of 35+ consultants in a rapidly growing clinical pathology laboratory offering a robust and expanding test menu.
• Work in a fully digital environment for lymphoma and surgical pathology sign-out, and evaluate options for digital bone marrow smears and cytology.
• Collaborate with other pathologists and physicians in other specialties.
• Participate in scholarly activities through research and education.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or MD/PhD, eligible for medical license in the State of Florida.
• American Board of Pathology (ABP) board-certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology.
• Expected to participate primarily in Hematopathology service, including bone marrow, lymph node, PB/Body fluid, and flow cytometry.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and administrative skills.
• An interest in educating residents and fellows trainees.

The selected candidate will join a group of 35+ consultants in a fully digital environment for lymphoma and surgical pathology sign-out, and evaluate options for digital bone marrow smears and cytology.
