Hematology/Oncology- Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Tenure Pathway

About the Role

The Robert Larner MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont is a leader in patient care, medical education, and research. The Department of Medicine seeks an outstanding epidemiologist for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level (Tenure Pathway) in the Division of Hematology Oncology and the Laboratory for Clinical Biochemistry Research (LCBR).

The candidate will direct a research program and collaborate with colleagues on multi-omics epidemiology research focused on cardiovascular diseases, stroke, cognitive disorders, and their risk factors. The LCBR, founded in 1984, has 14 affiliated faculty and serves as the biorepository and central laboratory for many longstanding NIH-funded cohort studies and clinical trials.

The successful candidate will participate in the NIH-funded Vermont Center for Cardiovascular and Brain Health Center of Biomedical Research Excellence, supporting multidisciplinary early career faculty in obtaining independent funding. Depending on career stage, they may serve as a VCCBH-funded early career investigator, mentor, or collaborator.

Requirements

• PhD, ScD, or DrPH degree
• Expertise in multi-omics molecular epidemiology of cardiovascular-related diseases, cognitive disorders, stroke, or their risk factors
• Demonstrated publications in one or more of these areas

Qualifications

• Postdoctoral research experience (highly desirable)
• Collaborative approach and expertise in multi-omics epidemiology, including integration and analysis of high-dimensional biological data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) within population-based studies
• Experience in translational research from bench to clinical or population settings
• Interest in health inequities and non-medical factors affecting health outcomes
• Ability to supervise and mentor trainees and data analysts in multi-omics analyses

Pay

• Assistant Professor: $110,000–$155,000
• Associate Professor: $155,000–$205,000
• Professor: $205,000–$275,000
