The MercyOne Genesis Cancer Care team is expanding and seeks a Full-time Nurse Practitioner to join their dynamic and supportive environment. This position offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.

About the role

MercyOne Genesis Cancer Care is a nationally accredited cancer care program that provides patient and family-centered care. The team includes 4 physicians, 2 Nurse Practitioners, and experienced clinical and non-clinical staff. Services include radiation oncology, infusion resources, genetic testing, surgical intervention, clinical trials, tumor boards, dietetics, and cancer navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients with various types of cancer
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop appropriate care plans
  • Prescribe medications and manage patient medication regimens
  • Participate in interdisciplinary tumor board meetings
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development
  • Support patient and family education and counseling
  • Document patient care in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of 1 year of oncology experience as a Nurse Practitioner (or 3 years of oncology RN experience with OCN certification)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted license to practice in both Iowa and Illinois
  • Current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications consistent with scope of practice

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of oncology experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Alternative qualification: Minimum of 3 years of oncology RN experience with current Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an unrestricted license to practice in both Iowa and Illinois
  • Current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications consistent with scope of practice
