Overview Of The Role This position is for an MD specializing in hematology and oncology, providing both inpatient and outpatient care in a cancer center setting. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology services to adult patientsManage a patient load of approximately 12-20 encounters daily, with flexibility during ramp-upConduct consults (typically 45 minutes) and follow-up appointments (around 15 minutes)Provide inpatient rounding and coordinate patient care within a multidisciplinary teamParticipate in call coverage on a 1:1 rotation, including weekendsMaintain hospital privileges and prescriptive authority Qualifications And Skills Board certification in hematology and oncologyCurrent hospital privileges and prescriptive authorityExperience with clinical documentation systems and EMR platformsAbility to handle inpatient and outpatient cases, with strong clinical judgment Additional Details Support staff includes full-time and part-time physicians and administrative personnelWork primarily on-site during weekday hours, with inpatient rounding in the latter part of the dayEngage in general hematology and oncology treatments across inpatient and outpatient settings
