Help Desk Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to support a company focused on mission-critical defense communications and operational support systems. This role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for secure communication systems, ensuring continuous operational availability across a 24/7 environment. This is an opportunity to directly support national defense missions through critical technical support and problem resolution. This position is on-site in Denver, CO and requires an active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for hardware, software, application, and network-related issues.
• Monitor and manage support requests through ticketing systems while ensuring timely incident resolution.
• Troubleshoot communication, connectivity, and system performance issues.
• Support mission readiness through system testing, operational monitoring, and lab environment support.
• Escalate complex issues, document resolutions, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in help desk, technical support, network operations, or systems administration environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting Windows operating systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, switching, and general troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong communication, customer service, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in Denver, CO.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Skills

• CompTIA Security+, Network+, A+, or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification (desired).

Pay

Salary Range: $30.00 - $44.00/hr (depending on experience and shift).
