Help Desk Analyst
This Apps Support position is for candidates with an IT background and experience in the following areas: Active Directory, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), APIs, and basic networking protocols (e.g., IP addresses, firewalls). The client is a technology service provider supporting student and teacher technologies across 40+ school districts in Westchester and Rockland Counties, with a centralized team handling infrastructure, telecommunications, systems, and service desk support.
About the role
The student information systems support group is expanding across three teams. This role involves training and assisting school district personnel with data processing applications, troubleshooting issues, and promoting data processing services.
Responsibilities
- Trains school district clerical personnel on software applications and documentation using existing materials.
- Provides guidance to user districts on preparing data for submission to the Regional Information Center.
- Resolves basic data application problems via telephone support; escalates complex issues to higher staff.
- Conducts informal training sessions for school district clerical staff to improve proficiency in online and micro applications.
- Monitors data processing for user districts from request receipt to output shipment.
- Participates as a team member on projects under supervision, assisting with priorities and progress tracking.
- Identifies user concerns, problems, and suggestions, relaying them to appropriate Regional Information Center personnel.
- Promotes the use of data processing services across all districts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus one of the following:
- Three years of work experience in data processing operations, technical support, or customer service related to data processing applications.
- Three years of experience using an automated financial, human resources, or student information system in a school district (e.g., Finance Manager, Wincap, eSchool Data, eSchool Plus, Infinite Campus, School Tools, Power School, or Office 365) for daily work functions.
- Substitution: Up to two years of the required work experience may be replaced by 30 college credits per year.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour. Individual compensation will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
