About the role
This position requires one to have experience in drydocking tugs, barges, and other marine vessels. This position requires the employee to be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required and needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-use inspection of all equipment operated
- Perform preventative maintenance to include but not limited to adding fuel, oil, and lubricants, cleaning and changing cables, filters, hoses, belts, fuses, and adjusting brakes, clutches, limits and similar equipment or functions
- Setup the marine railway
- Perform other duties as requested or required
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of shipyard experience
- A TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card issued by Homeland Security)
- A valid driver's license
- A passport
Qualifications
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required and needed
- Must participate in random drug screens as a condition of employment
- Must learn safety rules and become familiar with proper usage of safety equipment
- Must comply with all Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations and Procedures at all times under the direction of Stevens Towing Company, Inc.’s safety policies
