Responsibilities

  • Disassemble pumps and parts, blast & clean parts, and re-assemble pumps and parts independently
  • Hand dress (grind) parts for proper appearance or functional dimensions
  • Check parts for run-out and ensure part sizes and dimensions are accurate
  • Make gaskets, chase threads, and tap holes as needed
  • Operate lift equipment and cranes to safely move parts and pumps
  • Prepare pumps for shipment following procedures
  • Paint pumps and components
  • Operate balance machine to balance pump components according to procedures and specifications
  • Sandblast and clean pumps and components
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, and pictures
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Foster teamwork and respect among co-workers
  • Work overtime at short notice when required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to four years of related experience; previous experience repairing high-energy pumps is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and paperwork
  • Strong communication skills with customers and other employees
  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rate, ratio, and percentage
  • Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems with concrete variables in standardized situations
  • General PC knowledge
  • Must obtain lift equipment certification & OSHA training after hire
  • Ability to operate small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, cranes, lift equipment, and tool room machines
  • High attention to detail, multitasking, and issue resolution skills
  • Takes ownership of tasks and their completion
  • Experience using precision measurement tools
  • Ability to operate welding equipment may be required
