Heavy Equipment Assembler
Responsibilities
- Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and schematic drawings.
- Assembles component parts for products according to established specifications, schedules, and standards of quality.
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools along with inspection equipment.
- Fits, trims, aligns, and adjusts parts and components.
- Attaches hardware and seals assembly.
- Solders, lugs, routes, and ties electrical components.
- Calibrates unit according to specification.
- Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies.
- Tests installed parts and accessories for leakage, continuity, and functionality.
- Performs inspections to ensure assemblies comply with applicable requirements.
- Crates, packs, and moves finished goods.
- Reports lot codes of components used in assemblies, and recording assemblies built.
- Disassembles and replaces parts as required.
- Reworks, repairs, or replaces faulty component parts.
- Enters information into established computer system, production records, logs, time clock, and other forms.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Assists in staging parts for painting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Assembles electronic components, subassemblies, products, or systems by performing the following duties:
- Performs specialized functions in the assembly of electrical or electro-mechanical parts, assembly groups and arrangements to build primary truck products or paint equipment components.
- Works with electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Reads and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches or written/verbal directions.
- Assembles component parts, utilizing appropriate hand tools.
- Performs striping truck set up functions and initial calibration.
- Inspects and test completed component assemblies and diagnose malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.
