Heavy Equipment Traveling Field Technician (Mechanic)

About the role

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Traveling Field Technician (Mechanic) to support our branches in Virginia and Maryland. This role requires traveling in Virginia and Maryland.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders
• Track machine service intervals
• Order parts
• Diagnose issues faster by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models
• Work smarter, not harder with real-time information
• Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment
• Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably
• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
• Aid in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Document work performed in a complete and timely manner
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment
• Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner

Qualifications

• High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
• Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
• Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
