About the role
At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Traveling Field Technician (Mechanic) to support our branches in Virginia and Maryland. This role requires traveling in Virginia and Maryland.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, assign, and monitor work orders
- Track machine service intervals
- Order parts
- Diagnose issues faster by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models
- Work smarter, not harder with real-time information
- Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment
- Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably
- Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
- Aid in the training of lower level technicians as needed
- Document work performed in a complete and timely manner
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
- Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment
- Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
Qualifications
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
