About the role
Heavy Equipment Mechanic responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment and related components.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace equipment components, including routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Perform troubleshooting by identifying operational problems, requisition parts, and communicate repair needs.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, tools, and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Operate heavy machinery and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
- Read manuals, service catalogs, and work orders; document repairs and maintenance activities.
- Assist with minor building maintenance and collaborate with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of two years’ experience or equivalent training in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and prolonged standing or lying beneath equipment.
- Strong manual dexterity with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and communicate effectively.
- Capable of working in adverse weather conditions and wearing safety gear.
