About the role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician specialized in diagnosing and repairing complex hydraulic and electrical systems for agricultural machinery. In this role, you will ensure our customers' farm equipment operates at peak efficiency in a professional and safe manner. An agricultural background is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use diagnostic equipment as well as observe and listen to equipment in operation to find faults and failures in all systems on the machinery we sell, including but not limited to hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Read job orders, electrical schematics, hydraulic flow charts, and equipment manuals to guide repairs.
- Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed.
- Test-drive equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Tag all warranty parts and return them to the warranty clerk.
- Attend training classes and keep tabs on factory technical bulletins.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.
- Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by the supervisor.
- Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
- Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.
- Adhere to the manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications.
- Perform any other duties as outlined by the Service Manager and/or management.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
- Proven experience working specifically on large agricultural machinery or heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with farm operations, GPS/precision farming technology, and implement connectivity is a major plus.
- Strong independent work ethic but also able to work collaboratively with a team.
- Excellent customer service skills; a builder of relationships.
- Clear and concise communications.
- A strong sense of urgency, focusing on time.
- Computer skills.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Ability to independently lift between 50-75 pounds.

Pay
This position offers a base pay range of $20 - $39 USD. We scale pay based on the specific skills and background you bring. If your proven track record commands a higher package, we still want to hear from you.
