Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
  • Document service records, repairs, and parts usage in maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or similar role in construction, agriculture, or industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy tools/equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair preferred.
  • Certifications from manufacturers (e.g., Caterpillar, John Deere) or ASE are a plus.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, pressure gauges).
