HEAVY EQUIPMENT SHOP TECHNICIAN: 2ND SHIFT

Responsibilities
- Analyze the highest level of problems/issues quickly; logically and critically apply troubleshooting expert level techniques to determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work orders
- Service, diagnose and repair both Caterpillar and allied equipment
- Disassemble, inspect and determine parts needed and reassemble to factory specifications
- Rebuild any engine and all components (transmissions, differentials, electrical, computers, etc.)
- Perform electrical and computer repairs
- Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance, and service manuals/bulletins
- Prepare parts requisitions, parts returns, service reports, and required documentation, including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner
- Occasionally operate heavy equipment
- Inspect components removed from machines to determine their reusability
- Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner
- Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment
- Perform various other duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience with heavy construction equipment and work tool repair
- Experience performing complex mechanical, electrical, and computer repairs
- A high school diploma or GED, required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and expert level troubleshooting skills; able to accurately diagnose and repair equipment
- Willingness to work shifts as needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer needs
- Self-directed, organized, and ability to lead and mentor other technicians
- Able to work with limited supervision
- Proficiency in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products, and service software
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, required

$26.46 - $37.84 per hour
