About the role
Blue Island Recycling, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator for their 2nd shift operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate a shear crane to process scrap metal materials
- Load, move, and organize materials throughout the yard
- Operate loaders and/or mobile material handlers as needed
- Perform daily preshift equipment inspections
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Auxiliary support with general yard operations when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment
- Experience operating mobile material handlers, cranes, and loaders
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety and equipment operation procedures
- Must be dependable and able to work the full scheduled shift
