Heavy Equipment Repair specialist
About the role
Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The individual hired into this position would be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on diesel‑powered mobile equipment including troubleshooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel‑powered equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work safely at all times
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant mobile equipment including CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/diesel engines
- Mechanically inclined on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
- Weld, cut and perform minor fabrication on plant or mobile equipment
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- Vocational training or equivalent experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of experience with CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/diesel engine repairs
- Certification from a trade school is preferred
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a clean driving record
Work Environment
This is a full‑time position that regularly requires 40+ hours per week in a surface mine setting. The role frequently operates heavy equipment.
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
