Heavy Equipment Operator - Underground

About the role

Oldham County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for their operation located in Crestwood, KY.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery in a rock quarry including dozer, excavator, front end loader, haul truck, and general work around the quarry operation.
• Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
• Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Able to identify and alert management to maintenance issues with equipment.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to compete pre-operation inspection paperwork.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekend when necessary.
• Team player attitude.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening.

Pay

Starting at $23.00/hr. Overall pay will be determined based on the chosen candidate's experience and skill set.

Schedule

Full Time Day Shift (6 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Schedule may change based on seasonal and operational needs.
