Heavy Equipment Operator (non-key) with Security Clearance

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, motor graders, loaders, carryalls, scrapers, rollers, and tractors with attachments such as bush hogs and mower attachments
• Perform maintenance and repair of roads, berms, drainage systems, and other range infrastructure
• Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment using heavy machinery
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report malfunctions or safety issues
• Aid in erosion control, soil stabilization, and vegetation management activities
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment
• Maintain equipment in good working order and perform minor repairs as needed
• Operate vehicles and equipment in compliance with Fort Rucker and Army regulations

Required Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, graders, scrapers, and tractors
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent as required by state and federal regulations
• Certification or training in heavy equipment operation preferred
• Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to follow safety protocols
• Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs on equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Frequent use of foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus required
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
