Essential Functions And Duties Of Position
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
- Practice workplace safety per OSHA standards.
- Operate heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving and construction operations in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Work outdoors on location in all weather conditions and on all terrains, usually from the early morning hours until late afternoon/early evening.
- May be expected to work evenings, weekends or holidays.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, ensure equipment is safely and securely stored and clean equipment as scheduled and/or required.
- Be able to handle physically strenuous and demanding conditions.
- Able to work independently and to stay on top of the schedule.
- Willingness to perform general labor work, when necessary.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Read and write to keep up with daily records.
- Deal with the public in a positive, courteous and respectful manner.
- Team-oriented.
- Flexible with schedule.
- Lift items of 50 pounds or more overhead.
- Willingness to travel out of town if required.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned or required.
- Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous.
- Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction.
- Detail-oriented -- would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger picture.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to provide proper documentation that you have the legal right to work in the United States.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
- May require sitting for extended periods of time.
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
