General Summary

At Cinderlite, we are seeking a highly experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily production activities in an aggregate mining environment. This role requires precision equipment operation, strong site safety awareness, and efficient operation around crushers, haul trucks, and other heavy machinery. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in quarry operations and proficiency in operating various types of equipment.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials
  • Perform various activities including but not limited to: road building, finishing, sloping, banking, backfilling, loading, excavating, stockpiling, road surface maintenance, building and maintaining road berms, and loading trucks
  • Operate equipment proficiently and safely
  • Ensure operation of equipment is within capabilities and limitations
  • Perform required safety inspections and complete documentation
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site
  • Perform other duties as required

Certification & Skills

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Excellent equipment control and precision grading ability
  • Practice good safety habits
  • Work in dusty or dirty surroundings
  • Follow instructions and meet set standards
  • Judge distances and slopes accurately
  • Make decisions based on verifiable standards
  • Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

  • Stoop, bend, and crouch
  • Use hands, arms, and legs fully
  • See well (either naturally or with correction)
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
