Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for heavy equipment operations at the Research Farms facilities. This position also performs duties related to the general operation and maintenance of the North Farm to include but not limited to new installations of roadways and building sites, site renovations, demolition, land clearing, drainage ways, trucking, and other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supports research activities at the Research Farms.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs facilities and equipment essential to daily farm operations.
• Performs heavy equipment projects both on and off the farm, including transporting equipment to job sites.
• Works in varying climates outside.

Requirements

• Commercial Driver’s License or obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment.
• Able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs or more.
• Sit for long periods.
• Able to work in varying climates outside.
• Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, 40 hours/week, occasional overtime, and possible weekends and holidays.

Skills

Does not require supervisory responsibilities.

Pay

$15.61-24.99/hour

Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, 40 hours/week, occasional overtime, and possible weekends and holidays.
