Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

Martin Marietta is seeking energetic individuals to operate a haul truck at their Cedar Rapids Quarry, IA. This position operates various off-road haul trucks and other mining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of off-road haul trucks and other mining equipment
• Perform daily inspections of vehicles and work areas
• Inspect and maintain assigned equipment, clean equipment
• Assist with plant maintenance and repairs
• Perform other mining-related duties as required
• Operate any assigned equipment and perform daily work tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1+ years of related experience
• Valid US driver’s license

Skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations
• Effective verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, and maintenance

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• General physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and handling material

Pay

$24.80 per hour

Schedule

Hours: 6am-5pm Monday - Thursday & 6am-4pm Friday
