The Gunnison County Public Works Department is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator I. The position is a 40-hour per week role with comprehensive benefits.

Pay

• Heavy Equipment Operator I: hourly range from $24.19 to $27.54, plus full benefits.
• Heavy Equipment Operator II: hourly range from $28.53 to $32.49, plus full benefits.

Requirements

• Valid Colorado driver's license.
• Completion of ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.
• Valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.
• Current flagging certification.
• Willingness to complete MSHA Part 46 certification.
• Willingness to take and pass a First Aid class, CPR class, and other safety training.
• Willingness to attend additional training such as Road Scholar classes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
