Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

Covia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join its Operations team at the Cleburne, TX location. This position plays a crucial role in moving sand, overburden, and aggregate using various heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers to move materials.
• Comply with MSHA regulations and safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized stockpiles and safe roadways.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with routine plant maintenance and other labor tasks as needed.
• Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and adhere to site traffic rules.
• Communicate effectively with plant operators, supervisors, and team members to ensure smooth production flow.
• Work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in mining operations, preferably in sand.
• Understanding of operational equipment in sand.
• At least 5 years of relevant heavy equipment operation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks in a safety-conscious manner.
• Experience working collaboratively within a professional team to achieve set goals.

Qualifications
