Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Field and Shop)

Responsibilities
- Travel to active job sites to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with heavy construction equipment.
- Evaluate equipment issues and determine whether the repairs can be completed in the field or require shop repair.
- Troubleshoot and repair drill rigs, cranes, support equipment, and other construction machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment including scheduled inspections and servicing.
- Inspect equipment for safety compliance and operational readiness.
- Auxiliary operators with mechanical troubleshooting during active construction operations.
- Auxiliary with coordinating transportation of equipment for major repairs when required.
- Document work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations.
- Organize, complete, and store service reports and maintenance logs.
- Track recurring equipment issues and communicate trends to Equipment Manager.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school or vocational training in heavy equipment repair or diesel mechanic curriculum preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
- Local and regional travel as required to repair and maintain equipment.
- Focus, stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, and work from heights or within confined space during assigned shift.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of materials over rough terrain.
- Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record.
- Follow all safety procedures, use proper protective equipment, and help maintain a safe job site by identifying and reporting potential hazards.

Compensation and Benefits
- $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
