Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic

Job Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems to identify malfunctions.
• Repair or replace components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, wiring, and other key systems.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and software for precise assessments.
• Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and safety standards.
• Work with a service writer to create, track, and close out work orders, ensuring all tasks are accurately documented.
• Work closely with equipment operators to understand performance issues and recommend solutions.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while maintaining a clean and hazard-free shop environment.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working on heavy equipment, construction machinery, or similar industrial equipment.
• Brand-specific technical training a plus.
• Experience with aerial lifts, telehandlers, loaders, bucket trucks, and cranes is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A or B preferred.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools, software, and specialized equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies.
